ECS requests Kosovo to abandon customs duties on imports of petroleum products, 01 Sep 2015

Yesterday the Energy Community Secretariat submitted a Reasoned Opinion as the next step in the dispute settlement case against Kosovo for levying customs duties on imports of certain petroleum products from EU Member States and Contracting Parties.

In the Reasoned Opinion, the Secretariat reiterates its view expressed in the Opening Letter, that by levying customs duties on imports of certain petroleum products, Kosovo* infringes Article 41 of the Treaty which prohibits all customs duties on import of Network Energy.

The country is now requested to abolish the customs duties within a time limit of two months. For more: CASE ECS 12/14: Kosovo* / Free Movement of Goods
