Albania’s adoption of Third Package compliant electricity law

The Energy Community Secretariat sincerely welcomes the Albanian
Parliament’s adoption of a Third Energy Package compliant electricity law on 30
April. The law consolidates the reforms taken so far in this sector which have
been neglected in the past. Albania is the second country to have transposed
the requirements of the Third Package in the electricity sector among the
Energy Community Contracting Parties.
Dirk Buschle, Deputy Director of the Energy Community Secretariat, welcomed the
adoption of the law: “The importance of the law goes far beyond formal
compliance with EU legislation. It constitutes a decisive step forward on the
long path of energy reforms in Albania for which it lays a solid foundation. We
have worked very closely together with the Albanian authorities on this law
from the very first draft. I am particularly grateful for having cooperated
with capable and responsible partners in the Government and the Parliament, and
congratulate them on their leadership.”

Sekretariati i Komunitetit të Energjisë mirëpret miratimin nga Parlamenti i Shqipërisë të ligjit të ri për Energjinë Elektrike, në përputhje me Paketën e Tretë Rregullatore. Ligji konsolidon reformat e marra deri më tani në këtë sektor, të cilat ishin neglizhuar në të shkuarën. Mes vendeve kontraktuese të Komunitetit të Energjisë, Shqipëria është shteti i dytë që transpozon kërkesat e Paketës së Tretë Rregullatore për sektorin energjitik.
Dirk Buschle, Zëvendësdrejtori i Sekretariatit të Komunitetit të Energjisë, mirëpriti miratimin e ligjit dhe deklaroi:“Rëndësia e këtij ligji shkon përtej anës formale të përmbushjes së detyrimeve të legjislacionit evropian. Ligji përbën një hap vendimtar përpara në rrugën e gjatë të reformës energjitike në Shqipëri, për të cilën ai vendos një themel të fortë. Që në fazën e draftit krejt paraprak të këtij ligji, ne kemi punuar ngushtësisht sëbashku me autoritetet shtetërore në Shqipëri. Jam veçanërisht mirënjohës për bashkëpunimin që kemi patur me partner të aftë dhe të përgjegjshëm në Qeveri dhe në Parlament, ndaj më duhet ti përgëzoj për punën e tyre”.
